At LuggageHero, we understand that knowing when to expect your refund is important. This article explains how refund processing works, typical timelines, and what to expect on your bank statement.


Purpose

To help travelers understand when and how refunds appear on their accounts after approval.

Applies to

  • Travelers who have received confirmation that a refund was approved or initiated

  • Payments made through credit or debit cards via LuggageHero


1. Standard Refund Timeline

Once a refund has been approved and initiated, it is typically processed within 24 hours by LuggageHero’s payment system.

After processing, your bank or card provider may take additional time to post the funds to your account.

💡 Tip: Refunds may appear as either a credit or the disappearance of the original charge, depending on whether the initial payment was fully processed.


2. If the Refund Was Initiated Before Payment Completion

If your refund was issued before the original payment was fully processed, the charge will never complete, meaning it will disappear automatically from your bank or card statement.

A partly refund will change the original payment amount to reflect the new amount.


You won’t see a separate “refund” line; instead, the pending charge will be removed once your bank updates the transaction.


3. How Refunds Appear on Your Statement

Refunds are always returned to the same payment method you used when booking.
Depending on your bank, the transaction may show as:

  • “Refund from LuggageHero”

  • “Reversal of charge”

  • Or the original pending payment simply disappearing

If you booked using Apple Pay or Google Pay, the refund will be credited to the account linked to that wallet.


4. When to Contact Support

If it’s been more than 10 business days since your refund was approved and you still don’t see the funds:

  1. Double-check your bank or card statement for both refunds and reversed charges.

  2. Search for “LuggageHero” or the transaction date in your online banking.

  3. If the refund still hasn’t appeared, please contact support@luggagehero.com with:

    • Your booking ID

    • The date the refund was approved

    • A short note that the refund hasn’t appeared

Our team will verify the payment processor’s confirmation and provide an update.
