If your HeroCode (QR code) isn’t working or doesn’t open the correct booking page, don’t worry, this can usually be resolved in just a few minutes.
This article explains the most common HeroCode issues and how to fix or reactivate your code so travelers can check in smoothly.
Purpose
To help partners troubleshoot and fix HeroCode (QR code) issues quickly.
Applies to
LuggageHero storage managers and partners
HeroCode stickers, desk stands, or printed codes
1. Check the Link Under the QR Code
Each HeroCode has a unique URL printed just below the QR code.
If scanning doesn’t open your unique partner booking profile, try typing the link directly into a browser to test it.
If the link opens your location’s booking page, the QR code is functional.
If the link doesn’t load or shows an error page, the HeroCode needs reactivation (see step 4).
💡 Tip: Always verify that the link under the QR code matches your current storage location listed in your Dashboard.
2. Test with a Different Device
Sometimes the issue lies with the phone or scanning app, not the QR code itself.
Try these quick tests:
Use a different phone or camera app to scan the code.
Ensure your camera app has internet access and permissions enabled.
If you’re using a browser-based scanner, check that cookies and JavaScript are allowed.
If the code still doesn’t work after testing on multiple devices, move on to reactivation.
3. Ensure It’s the Correct HeroCode for Your Location
Every HeroCode is unique to one location.
If you have multiple locations or recently updated your account, verify that:
The HeroCode URL matches your location’s name when scanning it.
You’re not using a code printed for a different site.
If the wrong code was placed or mixed up, download and print the correct one directly from your Dashboard, or contact support.
4. Reactivate or Replace a HeroCode
If your HeroCode still doesn’t work or shows an error message:
Log in to your Storage Manager Dashboard.
Open the chat feature.
Select “Activate HeroCode” and share:
Your store name
Email address linked to your LuggageHero account
The unique URL printed below the QR code
Our team will confirm activation and notify you once it’s live again.
⚠️ If you’ve lost or damaged your HeroCode, you can reprint a new version directly from your Dashboard under or order a new one via the chat:
Account → Your Storage Locations → HeroCode → Download and Print.
5. Common Reasons a HeroCode May Not Work
Issue | Cause | Solution |
QR code not scanning | Poor lighting or damaged sticker | Clean, reposition, or reprint the code |
Redirects to wrong location | Outdated or mixed-up code | Reprint correct code from Dashboard |
Code opens error page | Inactive or unregistered URL | Contact support to reactivate |
Code not recognized by phone | Camera or permissions blocked | Try another device or enable access |
6. Confirm Activation
After reactivation, test your HeroCode again by scanning it:
It should open your location’s booking page.
The page should display your store name, and booking button.
Once confirmed, your HeroCode is fully functional and ready for travelers to use.
Summary
Action | Result |
Test link directly in browser | Confirms whether code is active |
Reprint from Dashboard | Replaces damaged or outdated codes |

Your HeroCode is the key to quick check-ins, reduced commissions, and verified bookings.
If you ever notice that it’s not working, follow these steps or contact our support team via chat to reactivate it in just a few minutes.
