If you’re unable to start your storage timer when dropping off your bags, don’t worry. This is usually easy to fix.
The timer is what officially activates your luggage storage booking, so starting it correctly ensures your bags are covered and your billing is accurate.
Purpose
To help travelers troubleshoot timer activation issues and successfully start their booking.
Applies to
Travelers with an active LuggageHero booking
Both web browser and mobile app users
1. Check Your Booking Status
Before starting the timer:
Make sure your booking is active and not expired.
If the timer button is greyed out or missing, your booking may have already ended or been canceled.
You can confirm your booking status from your booking confirmation email or by logging in at LuggageHero.com.
If the booking has expired, create a new booking for the same location.
2. Refresh or Reopen Your Booking Page
Sometimes the booking page doesn’t load the timer correctly because of the browser or app cache.
Try these quick fixes:
Tap refresh (↻) on your browser or pull down to refresh the app page.
Close and reopen the LuggageHero app or browser tab.
Reopen your booking using the link in your confirmation email or SMS.
This reloads your booking session and often restores the timer button.
3. Enable Browser or App Permissions
For the timer to start correctly, your browser or app needs permission to run scripts and access the internet.
Check that:
You have a stable internet connection.
Your browser cookies and JavaScript are enabled.
The app is up to date (check the App Store or Google Play).
If you’re using a private/incognito window, switch to a regular tab and try again.
4. Scan the HeroCode at the Location
If the timer still won’t start, scan the HeroCode (QR code) displayed at the storage location.
This automatically opens your booking page and prompts you to start the timer.
💡 Tip: The HeroCode ensures your booking is registered correctly with the correct location and guarantees coverage under LuggageHero’s protection.
5. Contact Support if the Timer Still Doesn’t Start
If none of the steps above work:
Take a quick screenshot of your booking page.
Contact our support team via chat or email at support@luggagehero.com.
Include your booking ID and a short description of what happens when you try to start the timer.
Our team can activate your booking manually if needed.
