This article explains what unclaimed funds are, how they are handled, and the process for claiming them before reversal.

1. What are unclaimed funds?
Unclaimed funds refer to payouts or disbursements issued by LuggageHero that:
Have not been claimed or accepted by the partner,
Were sent to an incorrect or inactive bank account, or
Could not be completed due to missing or outdated account information.
This can occur if:
A payout method was never verified,
The bank rejected the payment, or
The partner did not respond to a payout notification.
2. Policy on unclaimed funds
Notification
If funds remain unclaimed, LuggageHero will notify the partner via email or direct message, including:
The payout reference,
The amount of funds, and
Instructions for how to claim or verify the payout details.
Claim period
Partners must claim unclaimed funds within three years from the date of the first notification.
This window provides sufficient time to verify or recover payouts while maintaining accurate financial records.
Reversal of funds
If unclaimed funds remain unclaimed after three years, they are automatically reversed to the original payer.
After reversal:
The transaction is marked closed, and
The funds are no longer claimable.
This process ensures compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
3. How to claim unclaimed funds
If you receive a notification of unclaimed funds, follow these steps to recover them promptly:
Verify your payout details
Confirm that your bank account information in your LuggageHero profile is correct and up to date.
Review your payout method
Ensure your payout method is verified and active under:
Dashboard → Your Payout Methods
Follow the instructions in your notification
Use the instructions provided in the email or dashboard message to verify your account or confirm your claim.
Once verified, your funds will be reissued to your active payout account.
